We know how important hydration is amongst students, for both physical and mental performance. But sometimes, the cost of a drinking fountain can seem out of reach. Not to worry, we’ve put together a list of ideas to pull in a little extra cash to help you make pure water accessible by all.

Get up to $600 off each fountain with Auckland Dental Association

We partnered with ADA to encourage drinking water in place of sugary drinks. If you’re an Auckand based school, you could be eligible for a subsidy. Together, with ADA, we’ve contributed more than $37,000 toward new drinking fountains at over 50 schools. Contact us for more information.

Set up a crowdfunding page

Create an online crowdfunding campaign to reach a wider audience. Platforms such as Givealittle or GoFundMe make it easy to set up a fundraising page and share it with friends, family, and the community.

Approach local businesses for sponsorship

Reach out to local businesses and community organisations for support. We’ve found many businesses are happy to donate money or products to support local schools. You could consider hosting a community event or partnering with a local business for a fundraising night.

Get competitive with a coin drive

Organise a school-wide coin drive where students can donate spare change towards the purchase of the new drinking fountain. Set up collection jars in each classroom and offer a prize to the class that raises the most money.

Show off your baking skills with a bake sale

Host a bake sale and encourage students, parents, and teachers to donate baked goods to sell. Offer a variety of treats such as cookies, cupcakes, and brownies, and be sure to advertise the event in advance to maximise participation.

Get creative with an art auction

Organise an art auction featuring artwork created by students, teachers, and local artists. Invite parents, friends, and community members to bid on their favorite pieces, with all proceeds going towards the new drinking fountain.
